Hi, my name is Ms. Welcome.

This is my first full year teaching at Ichabod Crane. I live in Albany and love to make the journey each day to see all of you in Valatie.

My first love is reading. I love to read all different kinds of books and share my opinions with other people. I also love to play and watch tennis. I played tennis in college and have been to the US Open many times.

It is my goal this year to make Language Arts lots of fun for all my students. The other goal that I have is to make sure that you all learn a lot. Language Arts consists of reading, writing, listening and speaking. I am looking forward to a great year!!

The Writing Process:	Grammar, usage and mechanics Note taking and use of graphic organizers Writing purpose: descriptive, narrative, expository, persuasive, friendly letter, and business letter, poetry Use of word processing software Research: use of library's resources, internet and CD rom
